Safe traffic patterns main focus for district

Gettysburg Area School District
Gettysburg, PA Adams County

K&W worked with the District and their architect to design a new 224,000 SF Middle School on the same site as an existing school, which was then torn down to create new parking, roadways, and pedestrian pathways.

The project presented an opportunity to greatly improve the connection to the elementary school across an active township road to ensure safe bus, parent, and pedestrian circulation. A new layout for parking also increased safety for the campus.

K&W managed a traffic impact study that helped to inform the planning of the new campus. We also provided all land development, landscape design, stormwater management design, E&S control design and permitting, and construction administration for the project.
