Multiple Campus Improvements & New Athletic Facilities

pennridge School District
East Rockhill Township and Bedminster Township, Bucks County, PA

A Districtwide Feasibility Study identified several site and athletic facility needs that K&W is helping the District to address through a series of phased improvement projects.

Additional parking on the Middle/High School campus: site planners are strategically adding new vehicular parking areas at several locations to increase capacity and improve traffic flow. Bus parking will also be expanded behind the District’s Transportation Facility.

New Tennis Courts: the District’s existing courts had aged beyond their useful life and need to be replaced. The design plan increases the number of courts from 6 to 7 to better meet District needs. Two of the new courts will also accommodate Pickle Ball. A new retaining wall will help overcome elevation challenges and the project will provide infrastructure for future sports lighting.

New Natural Grass Multi-purpose Practice Field: a new athletic field planned near the high school will expand scheduling options for school sports teams.

Feasibility Study – Bedminster Elementary School Bus Access Drive Improvements: K&W is helping the District explore options for relocating its bus drop-off/pick-up to the opposite side of the school to resolve the issue of parent traffic backing up onto Center School Road and creating safety concerns. Parent drop-off would be moved to the former bus location at the Fretz Valley Road entry. The study identified site modifications and regulatory requirements necessary to update the Center School Road drop-off to accommodate 11 buses. We also prepared two conceptual site sketches for consideration.

Other Campus Improvement Projects: K&W is also working with the District to design traffic circulation improvements for West Rockhill Elementary School and is assisting with the design of a new storage building and salt shed at the District’s maintenance facility.
