Master Plan for Veterans Memorial Park sets authority fundraising goals
K&W’s site planners worked with the Director of the Shippensburg Community Parks and Recreation Authority to conduct a feasibility study and develop a Master Plan for Veterans Memorial Park. The park is an important community resource and its stadium serves as the home field for Shippensburg Area High School football games.
The study explored improvements ranging over the 27 acre site from a new community building, to a new pool house with concessions, new bleachers and lights at the stadium.
The Authority was also interested in the possibility of adding a synthetic turf field for multi-purpose events (football, soccer, field hockey, baseball). K&W developed cost estimates for desired improvements. They are currently seeking RACP grants and potential donors for the project.
