expanding schools at two campuses
As their Engineer of Record, K&W
designed site improvements at all
four of the District’s campuses. We
worked with their architect to plan
additions to both West Creek Hills
and East Pennsboro Elementary
Schools that involved relocating
play areas, a new access road, and
other site improvements. At the
Middle School, we reworked
campus traffic flow by relocating
the bus drop off area to the rear
of the building to better separate
parent and bus circulation for
enhanced safety. We also helped to design an addition to the District’s administrative offices.
The District also asked us to explore options for two new synthetic turf fields, analyzing costs and benefits of a brand-new fieldby the District Administration Office and the replacement of the natural grass surface at the high school stadium. Both fields were designed and bid, and the District decided to move forward with the new facility to best serve its athletes while undertaking a renovation to the stadium’s natural grass surface.
The addition to the adjacent District Administration Office will provide restrooms and amenities for players and spectators. The new multi-sport synthetic turf field will provide a safer play and practice surface and will allow expanded programming options for the District.
