K&W’s Greg Dice Honored with USGBC’s Volunteer of the Year Award

K&W Engineers is proud to congratulate Greg Dice, LEED Green Associate, on winning the 2016 Forever Green Volunteer of the Year Award from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Central Pennsylvania. Presented during the organization’s Forever Green Awards ceremony held at The State Museum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on November 3, 2016, the program recognizes accomplishments in green building and sustainability by the region’s best designers, builders, and engineers.

Nominated by his peers, Dice received the Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and dedication to USGBC Central Pennsylvania. Dice serves in multiple volunteer roles including the USGBC Central Pennsylvania’s Market Leadership Advisory Board (MLAB), and three other committees including Green Schools, ADVANCE, and Emerging Professionals.

“In addition to being instrumental in supporting K&W’s culture of sustainability, we are excited for Greg to be recognized by our industry for his community volunteer efforts as well.” said Marc Kurowski, Principal at K&W.

West York Area School District holds open house

On Thursday, October 27, 2016, West York Area School District held an open house at the High School to show off the newly renovated spaces, which include a new two-story wing, new entrance way with enhanced security, a new gymnasium that meets the needs of the Americans with Disability Act, as well as new locker rooms, and more.  The changes in the High School will not only benefit current students, but future students and assist in providing an educational program that benefits the entire community.

 

K&W Family Day

Groundbreaking at the Circle School

K&W Engineers proudly participated in the recent groundbreaking for The Circle School, a private educational institution, located in Susquehanna Township.  The new location, on eight acres, will include a nearly 9,000 square foot facility for approximately 100 students. The new campus has an estimated cost of $2.7 million and over 130 donors have raised money to assist in making this project a success.

K&W provided site design and civil engineering services to make the new facility a reality.

 

K&W Launches Designing Environments for Performance Campaign

As fall sports gear up to hit the field, K&W officially kicks off their new Performance campaign designed to highlight K&W’s experience in the design of athletic facilities. The Performance campaign’s Strategy Starts Here message focuses on K&W’s vision, expertise and results in both the renovation and construction of athletic facilities.

“With such a strong foundation in athletic facility design serving a wide variety of schools, universities and communities, we are excited to now have a campaign to help us tell the story,” says Marc Kurowski, Principal at K&W.
