We are proud to announce that the Cedar Crest College Cynthia L. Blaschak Field has been nationally recognized by the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) with a 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱! 🍾
K&W Engineers worked as the athletic facility designer for this project, including field and amenity layout and design, product and amenity specifications, field underdrainage design, site grading within the confines of the softball field, and construction detailing. K&W met with the client to determine the overall project scope and confirm design and amenities, and reviewed shop drawing submittals for appropriateness.
The project included the removal of an existing natural grass/ infield mix softball field and replacement with a new fully synthetic turf softball field with additional stormwater management, prefabricated dugouts, integrated bullpens, ball control netting, scoreboard, and new black vinyl-coated chain link fencing and backstop. New bleacher units were included on the left-field side and behind the backstop. The field location was shifted north to provide additional buffering.
