Last week we attended the celebratory groundbreaking at Bedford Area School District. Faced with a very confined existing site, we worked closely with the district and fellow designers, EI Associates – Architects & Engineers and Gatter & Diehl, Inc. Professional Engineers, to meet the school district’s goals of expanding the building and upgrading the athletic facilities.

The most exciting wishlist item is the anticipated integrated geothermal system underneath the new synthetic turf field. We checked off all the boxes AND utilized an innovative stormwater management technique to save the school district nearly $500,000 in underground stormwater management vaults. Great start to the project, team!
