Iroquois School - Athletic Field Improvements

Client:   Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates Architects

Owner:  Iroquois School District (ISD)

Site improvements include:

  • Installation of new monofilament infill (synthetic) turf system
  • Installation of new synthetic track surface
  • Installation of new field event areas (jumping / throwing)
  • Renovation of existing multi-purpose field, including re-grading, sub-surface drainage, installation
  • Pedestrian / Vehicular circulation improvements
  • Stormwater management improvements

Challenges

  • Stormwater management and NPDES permitting challenged the designers to solve complex issues associated with minimal site relief, satisfactory soils and increased runoff due to improvements.
  • Extremely tight review / constructino schedule

Solutions

  • K&W worked closely with municipal / county review agencies to develop an approvable and constructable project.
