- Widening of Spring Creek Road from Page Road to site access point
Challenges
- The steep topography of the site provided many challenges to develop a high school campus
- Significant roadway improvements were required
- The site is located in the Spring Creek watershed, which is part of an Act 167 that requires a strict reduction in stormwater run-off
- Limited area was available for surface stormwater detention facilities
Solutions
- K&W worked closely with municipal officials to coordinate efficient land development and permitting approvals.
- K&W worked closely with the project Architect to design a site and building that would engage the current landscape.
- Athletic fields were designed on multiple levels to reduce the need for retaining walls.
- K&W prepared a Traffic Impact Study during the due diligence phase to determine the extent of roadway improvements. This allowed PENNDOT permitting to occur simultaneously with the Township land development approval process.
