Site improvements include

  • Revisions / upgrades to current site traffic patterns, including separation of school bus traffic from vehicular parent traffic and master planning for efficient site-wide circulation upon future development of an Elementary School on this campus
  • Creation of new parking areas and modifications / improvements to existing parking areas
  • Improved service and loading areas
  • Installation of stormwater collection / conveyance and management facilities, as well as water quality measures
  • Modifications to existing entrance drives and design of a new entrance drive for future development of an Elementary School on this campus

Challenges

  • The modification of existing site layout to achieve new traffic pattern goals.
  • The integration of the existing infrastructure to service the school's future needs.
  • Adaptation of traffic flow patterns to provide for code compliance.

Solutions

  • K&W prepared multiple site layouts to determine the optimal traffic circulation configuration
  • K&W analyzed existing site infrastructure to verify functionality and visibility, utilizing existing infrastructure where possible and replacing as deemed appropriate.
  • K&W worked closely to create a dialogue with the local municipality to identify key issues of the planning approval process prior to submission of Land Development Plans.
